7 Smart Float Switches and Water Level Sensors which help you in saving water.
Introduction
A
Float
Level
Switch
is a device which detects the level of water or any liquid in a
storage container.
It
is frequently used as an alarm to indicate the desired level of water
or liquid. Also, it can be used as a switch to control a pump also
know as Water level sensor.
Level
sensors also detect the level of liquids inside a container like a
float switch. They contain some sort of a built-in electronic or
mechatronic system which either monitors level of liquid within a
particular range or at a particular point.
As
any liquid material flows horizontally due to gravity within
containers, sensors can be used at specific locations or range to
monitor the rise of level of liquid.
Mostly,
these level sensors are used as a trigger to direct an action when a
particular condition is fulfilled eg. When a water tank is full, this
water level sensor may trigger the turning OFF of pump, automatically
draining out liquid once it has surpassed any limit etc.
These
float switches and water level sensors have applications which
include remote locations which are dangerous and difficult for human
beings to commute, underground sumps and tanks which cannot be
monitored regularly, at urban homes where optimum consumption of
water is important due to shortage in supply of water etc.
